20 Festa Junina events are now on Canguaru
The Festa Junina in Australia guide keeps growing.
There are now 20 Festa Junina events across NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, SA and ACT, with arraiás, São João parties, Brazilian winter festivals, forró, baião, sertanejo, food stalls, family days and community celebrations happening across the country.
All listed in one place: Guide to Festa Junina in Australia
And exactly one month from this newsletter, on Sunday, 21 June, Sydney gets a big one:

This São João celebration is moving fast
Toca Luiz: Nosso São João brings together Odara Productions and the Brazilian Cultural Centre this June.
Odara Productions is known for taking Brazilian culture to bigger stages in Australia, including the Brazilian Film Festival, which brought Brazilian cinema to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
Now, in partnership with the Brazilian Cultural Centre, this celebration lands in Marrickville, a growing home for Brazilian culture in Australia.
Inspired by Luiz Gonzaga and the traditions of Brazil’s Northeast, Toca Luiz is being described by the organisers as the first street party of its kind, with the spirit of the São João celebrations people know from Brazil.
And the response is already strong: Early Bird tickets are sold out. First Release tickets are sold out too.
Through a partnership between the organisers and Canguaru, readers can still unlock an exclusive discount, but be aware: discounted tickets are limited.
So if this one is on your Festa Junina list, don’t leave it too late.

For Brazilian Businesses
This week’s quick fix: check your Google Business Profile
Many Brazilian businesses still rely almost completely on Instagram.
The problem is that customers often search on Google first.
If your business has no Google Business Profile, or if the profile has old hours, missing links, wrong contact details or an outdated Instagram handle, people may give up before they ever reach you.

I’ve seen this a lot while checking Brazilian businesses across Australia. Sometimes a business changes its Instagram username, but forgets to update Google. That small mistake can make the business harder to find.
Start with the basics:
Create a Google Business Profile if you do not have one
Check your business name, phone and service area
Add your website, booking link or best contact link
Make sure your Instagram link is current
Update your opening hours
Upload clear photos
Ask happy customers for reviews
A clean Google profile helps customers, Google Maps and AI search tools understand that your business is real, active and local.
